Metaphor for the ages: Hegseth breaks globe

Pete Hegseth wanted Eisenhower’s WWII globe for his office. His staff went ahead without the experts who normally oversee these moves. They dropped it and broke it. It’s hard to imagine a better metaphor for this administration’s arrogance and incompetence. Eisenhower understood the horrors of war and the importance of our alliances. Hegseth and Trump are more interested in obsessing over testosterone levels and cozying up to dictators than protecting our troops and our national security. They’re recklessly dismantling the world order Eisenhower helped build. And the damage goes far beyond a broken globe.
